Did you ever think you'd live to see Vanilla Ice rebrand himself as an indie rock hipsters? Yep, me either. Last I heard, he somewhat of a parody of himself, working as a high-rise condo real estate agent in Miami and in the middle of his "punk rock phase." Perhaps I was wrong. It seems like now Robert Matthew Van Winkle is in a full-blown "hipster-phase," "paying his dues" to the hirsute, latte-swilling indie rock crowd in Echo Park, California. In this gimmicky video for E's "The Soup," the 90s rap legend performs two acoustic versions of his two greatest hits: "Ice, Ice Baby" and "Go Ninja, Go." The glockenspiel is a nice touch, but reeks of pretentiousness.
