Back in June, after the Dallas Mavericks won the NBA Championship in Miami, Mark Cuban took the team over to the Fontainebleau Hotel's Club LIV, where they proceeded to rack up a $110k bar tab. Perhaps you remember the pictures. This past Sunday night, Hova headed to the same nightclub to celebrate the release of "Watch the Throne." Sean Carter's final tab after popping bottles during his Sunday Funday? A mind-boggling $250,000. Check out a video of the Ace of Spades bottles being paraded around after the click.
According to Radar, Jay's intent was to one-up Cuban:
“Jay knew that Mark Cuban spent over $100,000 after the Mavs won the championship a few months ago, and he wasn’t about to be upstaged,” a source close to Jay-Z told RadarOnline.com.
“He bought bottle after bottle of Ace of Spades and then went all out with the 15-liter bottle that cost $100,000 on its own!”
According to a source close to the Liv nightclub in the Fontainebleau Hotel, Beyonce’s 41-year-old husband tipped a generous $50,000 to the waitstaff at the end of the night.
Can you blame the man? He had a soild week, especially since "Watch the Throne" demolished the iTunes record for most copies sold in one week (Jay/Kanye moved 290,000 copies; Coldplay's "Viva La Vida" set the record in 2008 by selling 155,000 copies). A quarter-mil is a lot of dough to shell out on one night. But... Glad to hear he tips well. But, we need to ask: How hard did the waitstaff go after getting that tip?
