Yesterday afternoon Playboy released its semi-annual list of the Top 10 party schools in America. Two BroBible staffers -- AZ and myself -- have quite a bit of boasting to do around the office today, with AZ's University of Colorado at Boulder locking up the top spot followed by my alma mater, Penn State, coming in a solid second. Why Boulder? Here's the reason the Buffs are in the top party spot according to Playboy:
CU-Boulder is home to reefer madness. Not only does Boulder have 50 medical–marijuana dispensaries within its city limits, but every April nearly half the university’s 24,000-plus undergrads turn out for the annual 4/20 smoke-out on school grounds. Boulder is also a beer drinker’s paradise, with four breweries in town. "There are a lot of distractions from school—snowboarding, mountain biking, super hot girls,” says one alum. Literally dozens of world-class ski resorts are a drive away. You know Boulder is a party school because whenever you tell someone that you went there, the first thing they ask is, "Did you graduate?"
Now, before you start crying about being shafted from the list and the obnoxiously prattle about how hard your school goes, consider that the ranking is determined by Playboy's editors. So, unnecessarily angry commenters, don't shoot the messenger. Self-stated criteria for the list includes "input from students, fans of Playboy's social media pages, alumni, feedback from Playboy campus representatives at schools across the country, and interviews with countless others," according to a press release from Playboy. Other factors such as male-female ratios, academics, the winning percentage of their sports teams, and proximity to beaches, ski slopes and lively music scenes are also considered for the ranking. So... Who else made the list?
