Penn State’s THON Marathon Raises $12 MILLION for Cancer Research

You read a lot about these fraternity fundraisers, and it's easy to get a little jaded when you see "$10,000 Raised for X Cause," or "X Fraternity Puts on Car Wash" or anything of that ilk.

But this just flat-out shocked me. Penn State's THON dance marathon—which has been around for 40 years and now involves over 15,000 students dancing for 48 hours straight—shattered all its fundraising records this year, generating $12,374,034.46 for childhood cancer research. $12 mil is unreal. Amazing work by the school's fraternities, sororities, club teams, social groups, and anyone else involved with this. For all the bad press the school has had in the past year, this is a bright spot.

Here are all the donors, in case you were wondering who "won." (Alright, ATOs!)
