Although in fairness, if I went to the Beef O'Brady's Bowl, in god-forsaken St. Peters-Fucking-Berg, Florida, I would be drunk as all hell. Nick Southall, who was Ohio University's student senate president, had the right idea, getting hosed during his trip to see his Bobcats play. But then he got arrested. From the Huffington Post:
[Southall] was found at 2:45 a.m. Monday “screaming up and down the hallways” at the Sirata Beach Resort in St. Petersburg, Fla., according to Cristen Rensel, spokesperson for the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office.
Police arrested Southall, 22, after he began screaming obscenities at officers. Southall told police he did not know which room was his. The responding officers were trying to escort him to the lobby to figure out where he belonged, WOUB reports, but Southall continued to behave disorderly.
God for him. Fuck cops. They should be told that more frequently (coming from someone who has been arrested for saying fuck you to a cop). But he also brought shame to the office, which is a no-no for the SGA.
“Our initial oath when we take office is not to bring shame or discredit to the university, so right there his oath is broken,” Anna Morton, senate’s vice president, told the Post. Morton will take over now that Southall has resigned… As part of Southall's resignation, he forfeits the full tuition scholarship that came with his office.
Southall declined to comment on his arrest.
