Perhaps you heard: Two writers by the name of H. L. Rogers and Peter Littleton have a new book out called, "The Rogers & Littleton Guide to America's Douchiest Colleges." GQ Magazine, now the go-to authority on all things related to college douchiness, has excerpted this higher education guidebook in its August issue. As I see it, there are three reactions ways of reacting to the list: You'll applaud their choice of University of X, roll your eyes their choice of University of X, or bemoan loudly to all of your friends why the hell they didn't include University of X because "it's infinitely more douchy than University Y." So, what are the top 10 douchiest colleges in the country this year?
- University of Florida
- University of Delaware
- Bennington College
- Brigham Young
- Penn State
Aren't you glad we didn't make that a slideshow?
Our take? Meh. GQ already baited us on this stupid list back in 2009. Yawn. I'm a proud alumnus of the number two douchiest school on the list (PSU), just like back in 2009 AG was an alumnus of the number two school on the list (Duke). It's really just a cheap, subjectivemedia ploy for GQ to troll for clicks and gain some traction with a younger, college-aged (or recent grad) audience. If you want, read their rationales here. The BYU one is outstanding.
Now, everyone fill-in-the-blank at once now: "Why isn't _____________ on the list?" Engage, debate, question, and discuss amongst yourselves in the comments.
