Wow. Apparently government agencies responsible for billions and billions — if not trillions — of dollars of student loans are letting stupid 20-something millennials (or, worse… interns) run their Twitter handles this summer. This afternoon the Federal College Financial Aid tweeted a photo meme of Kristen Wiig in Bridesmaids from the airplane scene where she says “Help me. I’m poor.”
The message said “If this is you, then you better fill out your FAFSA.”
People who have their lives in shambles because of crippling student loan debt and expensive college educations didn’t like hearing that coming coming from a government agency very much. As one of those people back in the day, I can’t blame them.
As one does, they deleted the Tweet and issued an apology:
We apologize for the insensitivity of our previous tweet. Our goal is to make college a reality for all. We’re very sorry.

Just fuel for the fire to those who side with Mark Cuban about the student-loan crises.
