Taylor Swift and Paris Hilton both facing big money lawsuits

On one hand, Paris Hilton being sued isn’t going to break anybody’s heart, but someone suing Taylor Swift for allegedly ripping them off? Hmmm, yeah, that doesn’t really make me feel sad either.

First, in Paris’ case, she is being sued by Antebi Footwear Group, for $2 million, the amount of money they have paid her in royalties. They claim that Paris reneged on a business deal with them and even promoted a rival product. The kicker? Paris started this whole thing by suing them first, claiming she was due $1 million in unpaid royalties.

Am I the only one who reads that and thinks, “Why the hell would anyone pay Paris Hilton $2 million to do ANYTHING?” Perhaps Antebi Footwear Group had this coming when they made that genius decision in the first place.

Now as for Taylor Swift’s lawsuit, she is being sued by apparel company Lucky 13, who are claiming trademark infringement because Taylor has been using “Lucky 13” on her clothing line. Taylor, one would assume, based on her comments a few years ago about her affinity for the number 13, is merely showing her love for the number.

“The significance of the number 13 on my hand…I paint this on my hand before every show because 13 is my lucky number — for a lot of reasons. I was born on the 13th. I turned 13 on Friday the 13th. My first album went gold in 13 weeks. My first No. 1 song had a 13-second intro. Every time I’ve won an award I’ve been seated in either the 13th seat, the 13th row, the 13th section or row M, which is the 13th letter.”

Lucky 13 obviously isn’t buying it.

So, my question to you is, do you feel bad for either of these ladies?

Yeah, that’s what I thought.
