Kim Kardashian ‘Vogue’ cover causes shitstorm while Kate Upton dominates the inside

In case you somehow missed it, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are on the cover of this month’s Vogue and, oh boy, has it stirred up some shit. From the parodies it’s created to famous people cancelling their subscriptions to Internet fave Kate Upton feeling a little left out, Voguesure got people’s attention with this choice.

Gellar wasn’t the only person unhappy as Twitter was filled with comments like “The day Vogue died” and “This is the worst thing ever.”

Not helping matters is that this was rumored to be an issue that was going to put none other than Kate Upton on the cover, something Hildy Kuryk, Communications Director at Vogue, denied, “There was never a cover commitment made to Kate.”

Kate did score a photo shoot inside the magazine (looking almost unrecognizable) as well as this behind the scenes video…

And then there were the parodies of the cover, first by James Franco and Seth Rogen…

As well as Kermit and Miss Piggy…

Apparently editor Anna Wintour knew the shit was going to hit the fan so she wrote a pre-emptive strike in the editor’s letter of the April issue in which she said, “As for the cover, my opinion is that it is both charming and touching, and it was, I should add, entirely our idea to do it; you may have read that Kanye begged me to put his fiancee on Vogue’s cover. He did nothing of the sort.”

Well, he kind of did, but hey, who’s keeping track? Oh yeah, EVERYONE.
