Gia Allemand, an actress, model, and one of the final three contestants on season 14 of The Bachelor, has passed away at age 29.

The Bachelor contestant, who competed for Jake Pavelka’s heart on season 14 of the reality show, was taken to University Hospital in New Orleans “following a serious emergency medical event” on Monday night, ABC said in a statement on Tuesday.
No information regarding what the emergency event was or what her cause of death may have been have been released yet. Allemand was dating Ryan Anderson of the New Orleans Pelicans prior to her death.
UPDATE: It turns out that her death was a result of critical loss of brain and organ function after she attempted to commit suicide. Her boyfriend, Ryan Anderson, was the one that discovered her after the attempt.
