Cameron Diaz just published a new book out called The Body Book (yes, she wrote a book, go figure) and in it she devotes a whole section to discussing pubic hair. And here no one bought me it for Christmas.

Technically the full title of the book is The Body Book: The Law of Hunger, the Science of Strength, and Other Ways to Love Your Amazing Body, but all that matters is the 367 words she wrote about women and their pubic hair.

From the section entitled “In Praise of Pubes” —

“I hear that there’s a big fad these days of young women undergoing laser hair removal on all of their lady bits,” Diaz writes. “… Personally, I think permanent laser hair removal sounds like a crazy idea. Forever? I know you may think you’ll be wearing the same style of shoes forever and the same style of jeans forever, but you won’t. The idea that vaginas are preferable in a hairless state is a pretty recent phenomenon, and all fads change, people.”

Agreed. Better to just load up on tattoos. Those will never go out of style. Especially when you’re in your 60s and 70s. But wait, Cameron wasn’t done there, not by a long shot.

Pubic hair serves as a pretty draping that makes it a little mysterious to the one who might by courting your sexiness. Pubes keep the goods private, which can entice a lover to come and take a closer look at what you have to offer. Also, let’s be honest: just like every other part of your body, your labia major is not immune to gravity. Do you really want a hairless vagina for the rest of your life?

Uh, well, okay then. Not sure I needed to know that, but maybe it’ll be good for the ladies out there reading. After all, like Cameron also says, “Twenty years from now, you will still want to be presenting it to someone special, and it would be nice to let him or her unwrap it like the gift that it is.”
