People, you really need to start cleaning your pipes more often. Just so you don't have anymore excuses, here is a super easy way to do it.

As a devoted weed smoker I want to do everything I can to shatter the stereotype of the lazy stoner. I have to say, though, that most people aren’t helping with the lack of maintenance they perform on their pipes. It seems like half the people I smoke with act like the damn things are disposable. And of course since they’re so lazy they don’t dispose of them quickly, but instead use them until they are completely clogged and disgusting; and then they try to use them for another six months. Not only are clogged pipes difficult to smoke out of, they’re just gross.

Pipes are so simple to clean. There’s a simple, homemade tool made specifically for the purpose of cleaning your pipe that costs like one cent a piece. You can make your pipe last as long as you want (or until you put it into the death row for pipes that is your front hoodie pocket and drop it) and keep it in the same condition as when you first bought it as long as you’re not a lazy-ass.

I’m going to assume that it would be a bit much for you lazy bastards to clean your pieces once a week, so at least shoot for every few weeks. You will need four extremely exotic and hard-to-come-by items to accomplish this seemingly insurmountable task: salt, rubbing alcohol, a rag or paper towels, and pipe cleaners. You see where I’m going with this?

Bongs are the easiest damn pipes to clean, but that doesn’t stop most people from letting them become disgusting.  Seriously, dump the bong water out! Why does it seem like most people like to leave the same stale, stagnant bong water in until it spills all over their carpet or couch? The same goes for bubblers. Change that shit.

All you need to do is pour in a bit of salt and a bit of the rubbing alcohol and swish it around. The salt acts as an abrasive and the alcohol dissolves the resin. It will clean your bong in a few seconds. Dump it out and rinse with warm water. Then do the same with the slide. Just pour in a small amount of salt and wash it down the stem with alcohol. Now take a pipe cleaner and run it through. You may need to rinse it out a couple times and add more salt and alcohol. The bowl will need to be wiped.

You can give your pipes the same treatment. The bowl itself will take a bit of wiping with a paper towel but the salt/alcohol mixture with take it right off. Just run a pipe cleaner through the carb and mouthpiece, rinse it a couple times, and you’re set. Even the dirtiest of pipes can be thoroughly cleaned in a matter of minutes.

It will of course take less time and effort the more regularly you clean your pieces. I just think it’s ridiculous how lazy and grimy people are when it comes to their pipes. Just keep them clean and they will stay in tip-top shape smoking-wise; the fact that they don’t taste and smell like ass is a major plus as well.
