Yesterday Runway 4 Left at New York's JFK airport was closed for over an hour. The air travel headache was caused by turtles who just wanted to lay eggs after getting their hump on. Yes, you read that right. About 100 diamondback terrapins were crossing the runway enroute to a beach on Jamaica Bay to nest their eggs. The whole ordeal caused some mildly amusing banter between pilots, airport workers, and the air control tower. Let's listen.
Also, the JFK Turles have a Twitter feed a la the Bronx Zoo Cobra, if you're into that sort of thing.
