Wavee.com Launches New Store, Improved Auction System

by AG | March 17, 2010 at 12:00 p.m.
Editor's Note: This is a sponsored post from Wavee.com.

Back in October, we told you about Wavee.com, a new online site that auctions off all types of electronics, including laptops, gaming systems, cameras, iPods, Kindles, and more. Prices start at $0.01 and increase by a penny with every bid, which in turn increases the length of the auction by 20 seconds. The final, winning bid typically lands in the $1 to $10 range (or >90% discount off retail price). Users must purchase credits to place bids for 60 cents each, but any user who doesn't win the auction can apply their bids as a discount against the final price of the item -- "Bid to Buy." Although it was an innovative system at the start, there were also some things they could have improved. After collecting tons of feedback -- including a considerable amount from BroBible readers -- the guys at Wavee have been working non-stop over the past five months to greatly improve the site. So here's what's changed, here's what's brand new, and here's why you should give Wavee a fresh look.  Keep Reading »

by joePA | March 2, 2010 at 2:06 p.m.
Did you know that Joey "Jaws" Chestnut ate 241 wings in 30 minutes during the 2008 Philadelphia Wing Bowl? Or that a jalapeno generally has between 3,000 and 6,000 Scoville heat units, but a bar in Chicago has created a wing sauce that hits 350,000 units? Neither did I until I read about this glutenous feat and scorching pub grub in today's edition of The Toilet Paper, a ball-bustin' daily e-mail newsletter delivered to your inbox every morning.

Everyday our friends at The Toilet Paper provide amusing trivia and "did-you-know" facts to drop on your drinking buddies over happy hour. TheToiletPaper.com Gives the Low Down on Ozzy Osbourne

Ye who have not defiled a national monument with your urine cast the first stone.

Twenty-eight years ago today, Ozzy Osbourne's dyslexia got the best of him when, instead of remembering the Alamo, he relieved his member on the Alamo. On the morning of February 19th, 1982, after slamming a bottle of Courvoisier, the self-proclaimed "Prince of Darkness" left his hotel room in search of more booze. Since his wife and manager Sharon locked up his clothes to keep him from leaving, the hammered head-banger put on one of her dresses and darted out the door. The rest, as they say, is piss-tory.  Keep Reading »

Meet the Norwegian Olympic Beauty Who Won't Be in Vancouver

by GamblingPlanet.org | February 11, 2010 at 2:12 p.m.
This is a Sponsored Post from our friends at GamblingPlanet.org.

All right, all you hot female athlete-loving bros out there, hold onto your man parts and brace for the upcoming Olympic Games. Usually, the hotness is thought to come out during the Summer Olympics. With gymnastics, swimming, and two types of volleyball (hooray for tight shorts!), the sunny version of the games certainly brings a smile to our faces and a tingle up our legs. But the Winter Olympics has its fair share of hot babes, too, evidenced by this delectable little freestyle skiing baby pictured up top.

This Norwegian beauty is Kari Traa, and she's a former medal winner in the 1998, 2002, and 2006 Winter Games. Notice Kari's brilliant contrasting outfits. She can go from cyber-sexy 3000 to the snow bunny next door. Now that's talent! Unfortunately, however, this gorgeous goddess of the games won't be in attendance in 2010 (and thus didn't make joePA's list of hottest Scandinavian Olympians earlier this week). She's listed here for being the absolute hottest Winter Olympics chick to ever breathe air. But don't despair. The Winter Games still offer up a wide variety of beautiful babies to marvel at.  Keep Reading »

FraternityBlazer.com Launches Custom-Tailored Sports Coats for Fraternities and Prep Schools

by AG | February 8, 2010 at 4:42 p.m.

Every Bro needs a sports coat, but the typical blue blazer offers little more style than the dreary banquet halls with which they're usually associated. Our friends at FraternityBlazer.com are out to change all that. Their custom-tailored blazers are made exclusively for Bros at fraternities and prep schools, and will bring a new look to your next big function -- and wardrobe.

The 100% worsted wool blue blazers are custom-lined and -embroidered with your fraternity or school's colors, crest, and logo. Even the brass buttons are embossed with the crest of each fraternity or school. Perfect for semi-formals, formals, tailgates, class, meetings, dates, or parties, Fraternity Blazers are sharp enough to gain entrance to the fanciest club in town, but also fresh enough to impress the ladies of the top sororities.  Keep Reading »

Wavee.com's Auction Items are Going for Insanely Low Prices

by AG | October 27, 2009 at 3:31 p.m.
Looking for a new PlayStation3? Got 25 cents? That's how much a brand-new system is going for right now over at Wavee.com, the cool new bid-to-buy online auction site that we've been telling you about the last week. There's just under 20 minutes left in bidding (as of 3:29 p.m. ET), and even though bidding will heat up in the final few minutes, this PS3 is probably going to be sold for close 99% off the retail price.

In the past few days over on Wavee.com, a $600 Nokia cell phone went for $1.71, a $190 iPod Nano 16G went for $0.33, a $300 Amazon Kindle went for $2.26, and BroBible reader Brother Jimmy won a $129 Nikon Coolpix Camera for $0.23. That's 23 cents. As the site builds more and more followers, the deals won't be this good, but as a BroBible reader, you're one of the few to get in on the ground floor.

To read more about how Wavee works, click here, or just head over to the site yourself and start bidding.

UPDATE: The PS3 went for $2.28 after a ton of bidding from lots of Bros, hopefully bdonz19, the ultimate winner, among them.

Wavee.com Introduces New Bid-to-Buy Online Auction for Cool Electronics at Killer Prices

by AG | October 24, 2009 at 12:14 p.m.
Looking for a new plasma TV? Finally ready to make the switch to the iPhone? Forget the big-box stores and "discount" web outlets. Our friends at Wavee.com launched today an ingenious new bid-to-buy online auction system that will be the cheapest -- and most fun -- way for you to get a hold of the latest electronics. Here's how it works.

Wavee operates a no-reserve auction structure, which means all auctions begin at $0.00 and there's never a minimum selling price. Once an auction starts, you pay $0.60 every time you place a bid. Each bid placed increases the product price by the preset auction increment, and the auction timer is reset to 20 seconds. The highest bidder when the timer reaches zero wins the auction, typically at deeply discounted prices. According to Wavee, the final bid will typically fall between 70 to 90 percent of the item's retail value.

So let's say you place five bids over the course of an auction and your fifth bid nabbed you a $500 TV for just $50. Your bidding cost you just $3, and you just saved $447 on your new flat-screen (a whopping 89% discount!). What happens if you lose the auction? You can apply the full value of your bids as a discount to the purchase of the item at retail value. Wavee also has other great features -- including bonus and reward programs for frequent bidders, so you never walk away empty-handed.

Pretty cool, huh? Wavee launches officially today, and while the site builds up momentum and attracts users, items will initially be going fast and cheap, so head to www.wavee.com to take a tour and sign up now.
