'Brighton Beach,' Russian-American Ripoff of 'Jersey Shore,' in Development

by AG | March 1, 2010 at 1:51 p.m.

The New York Post is reporting that a Russian-American version of "Jersey Shore" is being planned, with casting calls already in progress (yes, Mya Erlikh, above, is a hopeful). "Brighton Beach" will put seven or eight Ruskies in a house in the Brooklyn beach community made famous (among other reasons) by Neil Simon's play "Brighton Beach Memoirs." The shows creators are looking to "deal with Russian stereotypes head-on." What exactly does that mean?  Keep Reading »

UPDATE: Terry Richardson Shoots the 'Jersey Shore' Guys and Bar Refaeli Together for Interview Magazine

by AG | February 24, 2010 at 4:10 p.m.

Photographer Terry Richardson has been shooting the guys of "Jersey Shore" all day for a future issue of Interview magazine, and according to Gawker, he's been Tweeting outtake photos all day -- including the one above of Pauly D's hair. Richardson likes to make cameos in his photos (he also shot the 2010 Pirelli calendar), and this shoot is no different. Warning: the photos are including the guys standing around flexing their abs, but that's nothing you didn't already see on the show... or in the mirror this morning.

UPDATE: According to Big League Screw, Bar Refaeli is at the shoot, too. We've added some of those pics after the jump.  Keep Reading »

'Jersey Shore' Guidos Turn to ChatRoulette to Pick Up Girls

by AG | February 5, 2010 at 11:05 a.m.

We know many of you have spent the past week Nexting your way through ChatRoulette, searching for girls willing to put on a show, and trying desperately to avoid any and all dicks. But there might be a few guys actually worth keeping up on the screen. Two NYU girls stumbled across none other than the cast of "Jersey Shore" on ChatRoulette last night.

As they explained in NYULocal:

My friend Katherine and I, planning on playing an open mic tonight, thought we'd make practicing more exciting by doing it while simultaneously navigating the treacherous waters of Chatroulette, the site that allows you to anonymously videochat with strangers. We suddenly came across four guido-looking guys dancing in a bedroom, so naturally we just laughed and said, "Are you guys from New Jersey?" Turns out they are New Jersey.

More screenshots (with no skin, don't worry, not even any abs) are after the jump.  Keep Reading »

'Jersey Shore' Will Be Back, but Where and With Which Cast Members?

by Mr. T | February 1, 2010 at 6:12 p.m.

Are you having "Jersey Shore" withdrawals? Don't worry, so are we. It's only been 12 days since the finale and we've been starved to gather as much insider information as possible. The good news is that the cast is coming back after having agreed to new contracts worth $10,000 per episode. The question now is where they will film the second season. MTV wants to jump on the show's popularity and air the second season during the late summer months, which means filming should commence imminently.  Keep Reading »

Like Snooki, We Sent the 'Jersey Shore' Finale Out With a Bang

by Mr. T | January 22, 2010 at 1:54 p.m.

The hangover from last night's "Jersey Shore Finale Poof & Blowout Viewing Party" (pictures below) doesn't compare to the hangover we're all going to feel in the coming weeks without MTV's "Jersey Shore." Last night's finale gave us one last fist pump of memorable moments from the cast with the reunion show providing the cherry on the sundae. America will have to find something to fill the void that's left behind, but at least we can all anticipate the DVD, which will include never-before-scene footage.

Ending the Nausea

Nothing excited me more last night than the possibility that Ronnie and Sammi might actually break up. On the reunion show, Sammi freaks out when never-before-seen footage is to be shown after the break. All it turned out to be was that The Situation talked shit to Sammi about Ronnie one day when she was in bed and they flirted with each other. Ronnie loses his shit when seeing the footage, which leads to bickering and a breakup on the show.  Keep Reading »

One Last Night to Fist Pump: The 'Jersey Shore' Finale Has Arrived

by Mr. T | January 21, 2010 at 4:51 p.m.
All good things come to an end and sadly tonight is no different. MTV introduced "Jersey Shore" into our world on December 3, 2009, and we've been fist pumping ever since. The show has become a phenomenon despite all the backlash from Italian-American groups and other killjoys. MTV even developed a 30-minute special called "Jersey Shore Spoofs," where the cast watches all the internet videos about them and decides whether or not each video deserves a fist pump. We've posted most of the gems on this site already, but there were a few we haven't shown yet:

  • CNN presents "The Situation" Room. [YouTube]
  • Key of Awesome does a Jersey Shore Parody Song. [YouTube]
  • Puppies re-enact the Snickers punch. [YouTube]

Tonight's finale appears to pack a decent punch. Although it wasn't shown in last week's finale preview, MTV has been airing commercials that show Snickers and The Situation getting busy in the hot tub. This seems to be a perfect fit. Both cast members have shown the willingness to bang anything with a pulse over the course of the season. There's also a reunion show after the finale at 11 p.m that promises plenty of fireworks and good anecdotes.  Keep Reading »

Live-Blogging Tonight's Two-Hour Episode of 'Jersey Shore'

by Mr. T | January 14, 2010 at 10:00 p.m.

I'll start live blogging tonight's two-hour episode of "Jersey Shore" at 10 p.m., but to tide you over until then, here are a few Seaside Heights-related links that I stumbled upon this week:
  • The original "Jersey Shore" -- Wildwood, N.J. -- circa 1980s sometime, is up above. [Dangerous Minds]
  • A hilarious video of kids re-enacting "Jersey Shore," complete with plenty of juice... boxes. [Babelgum]
  • Snooki lip-dubs to Britney Spears' "Radar." Isn't that just perfect? [YouTube]
  • Yes, there is a "Jersey Shore" iPhone app. [Tingalin]

The live blog starts here at 10 p.m...

10:00 p.m.: Two hours of Jersey Shore?!? Hell yeah! That's one way to get us ready for next week's finale. I can hardly contain myself. I'm reaching for the bronzer as we speak...
10:03 p.m.: The only thing we care about is getting girls. Getting girls and going to the gym. "The Situation. I'm with him. Sammi, we don't care about your shit! Go away!  Keep Reading »

Make Sure You 'GTL' Before You Watch Another Episode of 'Jersey Shore'

by Mr. T | January 8, 2010 at 11:14 a.m.
It was a big night at Mr. T's house with Texas vs. Alabama on one TV and another episode of MTV's "Jersey Shore" on the other. How can I make sure I give "Jersey Shore" the attention it deserves? Break out a running diary of the episode, that's how. Let the madness begin.

10:01: It's good to see Angelina in the opening credits. Oh how we miss her. Not!

10:02: GTL -- Gym, tanning, laundry. "That's how they make the Guidos" --Vinny. That's why he doesn't belong on the show. He's a good dude, but he doesn't completely fit in with the rest of them. You gotta stay fresh to death in order to be on this cast.

10:04: Kudos to Danny for not tossing Vinny out of the house. And he handles it well, too. He busts Vinny's balls. He drops a line about getting Herpes. Well done.  Keep Reading »

Snookie Makes Birthday Appearances and Takes Punches On Another Episode of 'Jersey Shore'

by Mr. T | January 4, 2010 at 2:55 p.m.
While you and I were out crushing champagne and making bad decisions on New Year's Eve, MTV decided to air a new episode of "Jersey Shore." I doubt any of you were actually home watching it at the time (if so, shame on you for ringing in the new year like a pussy), but it definitely provided nice hangover TV viewing on New Year's Day if you weren't watching college football or the NHL Winter Classic. It was nice to see the bar I was at in Boston show the episode without sound on one of its TVs because watching Pauly D on the wheels of steel brings a smile to your face as you close out yet another year.

In case you were throwing up all day, spent all day in bed with a girl whose self-proclaimed "Jersey Shore" nickname is "The Disaster," or started the new year with a 72-hour drinking binge, we're here to provide you with a recap of what you missed from last week's episode. Now that the clock has turned to 2010, we only have three episodes remaining. Start planning your finale viewing parties (costume encouraged) and make the most of it.  Keep Reading »

The Situation Comes Clean, and Alyssa Milano Slips Into Her Best Snooki Makeup

by AG | December 22, 2009 at 11:24 a.m.

"Jersey Shore" is truly the gift that keeps on giving. At least the cast members are fully embracing the ridiculousness of the whole thing and cashing in on it, right? I mean, the rest of the world is, so why not them? Funny or Die released two funny spoof videos this week. The one above is called "The REAL Situation" and after the jump, Alyssa Milano gets the Snooki treatment in the form of a Dove-like "Evolution" commercial. Funny stuff.  Keep Reading »

Snookie Finally Gets Dropped, The Situation Gets Blocked, and Ronnie and Sammi 'Smush'

by Mr. T | December 18, 2009 at 10:11 a.m.
Last night's episode of MTV's "Jersey Shore" was the one we had been waiting for all season. Ever since seeing Snickers get her lights knocked out in the coming attractions from the premiere, the whole world was excited to see it in an episode. The clip, made into a slow motion .gif, was passed around the internet and instantly became a phenomenon. We figured out the guy was a teacher from New York City. We were curious who the dude was standing in between Snickers and the teacher after realizing he got hit with the punch as well. The excitement continued to build and then MTV tried to shut it all down.  Keep Reading »

'Jersey Shore's' The Situation, Snooki, and Pauly D Answer the Tough Questions on Leno

by AG | December 17, 2009 at 10:45 a.m.

Two bits of "Jersey Shore" news for you this morning, just 11 hours to episode 3. First, why the Times is covering the show with a "Jersey Shore" handbook I have no idea, but the author of this piece is an old writer of mine (at a previous publication) and he's very funny. Check it out. Also, last night The Situation, Snooki, and DJ Pauly D continued to make the rounds of NBC late-night shows with a stop on "Leno" for a trivia contest. The very funny video is after the jump.  Keep Reading »

MTV Cuts Snooki Punch from This Week's 'Jersey Shore'

by AG | December 14, 2009 at 11:14 a.m.

MTV has decided to eliminate the segment of this Thursday's episode in which Snooki gets punched in the face by a NYC gym teacher. "What happened to Snooki was a crime and obviously extremely disturbing," MTV said in a written statement. "After hearing from our viewers, further consulting with experts on the issue of violence, and seeing how the video footage has been taken out of context not to show the severity of this act or resulting consequences, MTV has decided not to air Snooki being physically punched in the face."

We never like to see a woman get hit, but isn't this taking things a little far, especially since nearly everyone has seen it already? The video has been removed from YouTube, but the two-second gif file is still floating around the Internet, including after the jump if you must see it again...  Keep Reading »

How Did the 'Jersey Shore' Drinking Game Go Over at Your Viewing Party?

by AG | December 11, 2009 at 11:01 a.m.
Yesterday we presented our 'Jersey Shore' Drinking Game. This morning on Texts from Last Night, we see this entry:

Should our rules be amended at all? Too intense perhaps? Check them out again after the jump and weigh in with your two cents.  Keep Reading »

On 'Jersey Shore' Episode 2 (and the 'After Show'), Plenty of Secrets Revealed

by Mr. T | December 11, 2009 at 10:08 a.m.

Editor's Note: Every Friday, Mr. T will recap the previous night's episode of the greatest reality TV show of our generation: "Jersey Shore." Consider this your Spoiler Warning.

Before we start recapping last night's episode of MTV's "Jersey Shore," I need to make a Public Service Announcement. If you're watching the best reality show on TV, you also need to watch the "After Show," which goes on for 30 minutes directly after each episode. I was out being a rec-league basketball superstar and came home to watch the episode on delay with DVR. While watching the show, I got a message from a friend telling me that MTV was unloading extra information on the "After Show." Oddly, my Time Warner Cable didn't show the "After Show" following the episode, so I had no idea it was even on. Thankfully, I was able to tape the last five minutes and it was better than anything shown in the actual episode. So, to recap, tape the "After Show." It may cost you another 30 minutes of your day, but I know you're in the same boat as me. You're not going to turn down the chance to see more "Jersey Shore."  Keep Reading »
