July Fourth weekend officially begins with the big July 1st movie premieres, and of course the flick to see tonight -- and all holiday weekend -- is "Public Enemies," starring Johnny Depp, Christian Bale, and Marion Cotillard. "Enemies" has gotten pretty solid reviews, but face it, you're paying your $12.50 simply to watch Depp for two hours. He's that good. For anyone with a kid brother to entertain, "Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs" opens tonight, too.
On TV, yes, another season of "The Real World" (MTV, 10 p.m.) is upon us. This time in Cancun, because why even pretend like the eight strangers are in the house to do anything other than drink and have sex? Last week, we caught the first episode of "The Philanthropist" (NBC, 10 p.m.), and really liked it. Check it out. Discovery is airing a marathon of "Pitchmen" episodes, in honor of Billy Mays, all night.
Here's tonight's late-night lineup:
"Daily Show": author Justin Fox
"Colbert Report": columnist Nicholas Kristof
"Letterman": repeat
"Conan": repeat
"Kimmel": Shia LaBeouf, actress June Diane Raphael, Eric Hutchinson
"Ferguson": Denis Leary, Diane Birch, Tod Sawyer
"Fallon": repeat
