The 15 Hottest Australian Sports WAGs

While North America and the rest of the world continue to milk the hangover from Tiger Wood's extramarital philandering, a juicy sports scandal is unraveling in Australia during the dog days of the Southern Hemisphere summer. Lara Bingle, one of Australia's best known models and cricket WAGs, is suing her ex-boyfriend, Brendan Fevola, an Australian-rules football player for the Brisbane Lions, for taking a picture of her nude in the shower. So what? Fevola allegedly blasted the picture out to all of his cricket clubhouse friends before Australia's Women's Day magazine got a hold of it and decided to publish. It gets better.

As we understand it, she's currently the fiance to revered Australian cricket vice captain, Michael Clarke. Apparently Bingle and Fevola were having an affair at the time. In addition to being a smoking-hot model and high-profile media darling, Bingle is also a former Australian tourism ambassador. So, at its core, the hubbub is the hypothetical U.S. equivalent to Minka Kelly cheating on Derek Jeter with Johan Santana, who spreads sext-ing pictures of Jeter's squeeze to the entire National League before the New York Post gets their hands on them.

Not to be the proverbial ugly and ignorant American, but the magnitude of this sports blow-up really doesn't mean anything to me. What the hell do I know about cricket and the demands of living in the Aussie media spotlight? Nonetheless, the incident piqued my curiosity and inspired a brief investigation into a related topic: the WAG phenomenon Down Under. The tabloid obsession with the wives and girlfriends of profession athletes has exploded in Australia, with the WAGs of contracted cricket players occasionally having to attend group counseling sessions. With a little research, I was able to track down the 15 hottest Australian WAGs of cricketers, Australian-rules footballers, and even a tennis player. Let it serve as further proof that a country famous for kangaroos, an excellent surf scene, Steve Irwin (RIP), and "Men at Work," also boasts magnificently beautiful women.
